Josie Gallagher - Boxing
In 1984 at the National Stadium, Gallagher, a member of Dunfanaghy Boxing Club won two Irish titles at just 18 years of age, winning both the U-19 and Junior Heavyweight Finals.
In the U-19 contest in May 1984, he won by way of a stoppage and it won by points decision in the Junior Final in December. In the next couple of years, he reached the senior semi-finals in Dublin and represented Ireland at an international tournament in Malta.
Gallagher was with Dunfanaghy ABC for six years and had around 40 fights.
