Ashleigh McArdle will head for DePaul University later this year
Lifford-Strabane AC multi-eventer Ashleigh McArdle will take up a scholarship at DePaul University in Chicago in August.
McArdle attended several universities in the United States across recent months, but has agreed terms at DePaul.
McArdle has risen through the ranks at Lifford-Strabane AC and has been successful across several disciplines.
The Ballymagorry native met with David Thompson, who will be her coach at De Paul, and Dave Dopek, the head of track and field at the university, recently ahead of her link up with the Blue Demons.
Last July, McArdle won silver in the national senior heptathlon when she competed at senior level for the first time.
She took silver with 4,714 points, beaten only by Nenagh Olympic's Laura Frawley, who amassed 4,831 points.
