Brendan Boyce competes this weekend at the World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships in Muscat, Oman.

The Finn Valley AC man was the silver medalist at the weekend in the 5k race walk at the National Indoor Championships in Dublin.

Boyce's favoured 50k distance has been ditched by the IOC and he now competes over the 35k distance.

Boyce has already qualified for the 2022 World Athletics Championships.

The Milford native has had a busy start to 2022 having also been at the Spanish Open 20k walk where he came 12th in a time of 1:27.13.   

Last year, he was was 10th in the Tokyo Olympic Games 5k race walk and he finished ninth in the European Race-Walking Team Championships in the Czech Republic just months before in May 2021.

He will be in action on Saturday against 85 athletes from 35 countries such as Spain’s Miguel Aìngel Lopez.
