Letterkenny duo Dylan Browne-McMonagle and Charlie Moore teamed up for a 40/1 winner at Dundalk on Wednesday evening.

Jockey Browne-McMonagle took the Moore-trained Coviglia to a fine win in the Dundalk Winter Series Leading Trainer & Jockey Championship Handicap.

Under the direction of Browne-McMonagle, Coviglia won by a length from the 16/1 chance Cristal Clere, ridding by Sean Bowen.

Coviglia chased the leaders on the home turn over the mile. Leading from a furlong out, Browne-McMonagle held on well.

"I think he will win again because that is his first run since August,” a delighted Moore said of the eight-year-old Coviglia.

“He likes the turf too, we will see how we come out of this race."

He has come back to his form, he had a wee bit of muscle problems but we got it sorted. I knew he was showing me plenty at home.”

Moore is based at Lurgybrack in Letterkenny, where he trains his horses and can also be seen most days at Ratmullan beach.
