Mona McSharry won the silver medal in the 200m Breaststroke in Barcelona Mare Nostrum Swim Tour in a time of 2:25.58.

The Grange, Co Sligo native, who swam out of Marlins Swimming Club in Ballyshannon, was pipped to the gold medal by Molloy Renshaw of Great Britain by 0.11 of a second. Third place went to Sophie Hansson of Sweden, with 2:26.70.

McSharry's time of 2:27.10 was the fastest of all of those who took part in the heats.
