St Johnston returned to League action on Saturday, but lost out to Brigade in the North West League.

At Beechgove, Brigade were seven-wicket winners.

Brigade put St Johnston all out for 139 runs.

Alan Macbeth was put out by Nick Gray with the opening ball of the game and St Johnston never really got going.

Captain David Lapsley reached 64 before he fell to Gray, who also accounted for Michael Rankin.

St Johnston had shocked Brigade in the Senior Cup recently, but there was to be no repeat.

Iftikhar Hussain, who took two wickets, starred with the bat for Brigade, posting 67 before he was caught by Anil Kumar off the bowl of Rankin.

St Johnston were beaten by Bonds Glenn in the Best Western White Horse T20 Cup on Friday night.

Bonds Glenn made 160-6 with Heinrich Roberts helping himself to 45.

Jack Macbeth’s unbeaten 65 and 45 from Lapsley had St Johnston somewhat on track, but they made 132-6 in response.
