Dry Arch Park, the home of Bonagee United FC.
Bonagee United have been given the green light to host League of Ireland Premier Division side Shelbourne at home in the FAI Senior Cup.
Bonagee will welcome Shelbourne, who are managed by former Republic of Ireland International Damien Duff, to Dry Arch Park on Friday-week, August 26 (kick-off 8pm).
A Football Association of Ireland representative visited the venue last week and Bonagee are now gearing up for the biggest night in the club’s history.
Tickets, priced at €10 for adults and €3 for children, will go on general sale from this Friday at 11am at Callaghan’s XL on Main Street, Letterkenny. Tickets will also be available to buy from 7-8pm at Dry Arch Park from Monday-Thursday next week.
Jason Gibson’s team booked a place in the second round following a 6-0 win over Pike Rovers from Limerick.
Conor Black and Tony McNamee scored a brace each with Micheál Dohery and Jamie Lynagh also on target.
Bonagee reached the quarter-finals of the FAI Intermediate Cup this year and Gibson’s men won a Cup treble in the 2021/22 season.
Now, Shels - who include Burt native Mark Coyle and former Finn Harps striker Sean Boyd in their ranks - are set to arrive at Dry Arch Park.
“The Cup draw has brought a great buzz around the club,” Bonagee United manager Jason Gibson said.
“Shels have been resurgent again and obviously Damien Duff is an extra attraction to the tie. From a football point of view, it’s clearly a tough task, but it’s brilliant.”
