Much sadness at death of former prior of Lough Derg, Monsignor Dick Mohan

The monsignor also served as parish priest of Clones in Co Monaghan

The former Prior of Lough Derg, Monsignor Richard (Dick) Mohan has died on New Year's Day following a short illness.

Dr Gary Carville announced the sad news on behalf of the Clogher Diocesan Office.

He said: "It is with great sadness that my first duty of 2023 is to let you know of the death earlier today of Monsignor Richard (Dick) Mohan, retired PP of Clones, former Prior of Lough Derg - and for many years the Diocesan Religious Advisor to schools.

"Mgr Dick died in the South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen this morning following a very short illness, having been taken there from Aghadrumsee yesterday morning.

"May his soul rest in the eternal peace of Christ our Lord and Saviour."

Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalised.
