Station Island, Lough Derg
The former Prior of Lough Derg, Monsignor Richard (Dick) Mohan has died on New Year's Day following a short illness.
Dr Gary Carville announced the sad news on behalf of the Clogher Diocesan Office.
He said: "It is with great sadness that my first duty of 2023 is to let you know of the death earlier today of Monsignor Richard (Dick) Mohan, retired PP of Clones, former Prior of Lough Derg - and for many years the Diocesan Religious Advisor to schools.
"Mgr Dick died in the South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen this morning following a very short illness, having been taken there from Aghadrumsee yesterday morning.
"May his soul rest in the eternal peace of Christ our Lord and Saviour."
Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalised.
The Requiem Mass of Fr Seamus Meehan, who passed away peacefully at Dungloe Community Hospital on Saturday morning, was held in St Crona’s Church.
Construction is currently at an advanced stage, with works progressing steadily under the supervision of the HSE Capital and Estates and in conjunction with local contractor Boyle Construction
