The 5th/6th class students of St Eunan’s NS in Laghey are celebrating after completing The Future Well Kids Programme.
Future Well Kids is an innovative programme designed to inspire children to adopt healthy habits to live healthier, fuller lives.
The programme was designed by Abbott and delivered by volunteers from Abbott Diabetes Care business in Donegal over the past 5 weeks. Students learn how to reduce their risk of developing chronic diseases later in life through physical health, nutrition and healthy lifestyle education.
Lessons include a combination of education modules with practical exercise sessions. Since the programme was first launched in Ireland in 2019, 14 schools and over 1000 students have participated.
Speaking about the programme, Site Director at Abbott Diabetes Care business in Donegal, Sean O’Hara said: “We all want what’s best for our children. We want them to be happy, healthy and to live full lives.
