Michael Duffy was back in the Derry XI and he set up Boyce for the opener in the 38th minute, Duffy’s corner was met by Boyce at the near post and the Ramelton man headed home.
On the hour, Duffy riffled home from the edge of the Cork penalty area.
Duffy’s father, Michael senior, hails from St Johnston and he played schoolboys football with Kildrum Tigers, while younger brother Stephen is on the Cockhill Celtic squad for Sunday’s FAI Intermediate Cup final.
Colm Whelan added a third when he pounced on a loose ball after Ollie O’Neill was denied.
Late in the night, former Finn Harps striker Tunde Owolabe bagged a late consolation for Cork.
