Cockhill Celtic are back in the Inishowen League after the folding of the USL.
The new Inishowen League season kicks off this Sunday with games in the group stages of both the Clubman Shirts League Cup for the Premier Division and the Charlie O’Donnell Memorial Cup for the First Division teams.
Holders Greencastle have been drawn in Group B with Aileach and Illies and begin their defence at Chapel Lane against Illies Celtic.
Group A is the proverbial ‘Group of Death’ with Moville Celtic, Buncrana Hearts and Cockhill Celtic returning from Intermediate football.
Moville and Buncrana clash in the opening fixture. Group C sees promoted Carn travel to Clonmany in their opening game with Glengad United the third team in the group.
The three group winners and the best runner up across the groups qualify for the semi finals.
In the Charlie O’Donnell Memorial Cup, QPS are the holders and they are drawn with Dunree United, Aileach Res and Greencastle Youths.
They begin their defence at home to Dunree United. In group A relegated Culdaff face Clonmany Res at home while Buncrana Res host Rashenny in the other group game.
Finally, in Group C, Redcastle United welcome Cockhill Youths to Foyle Park with Carn Res also in the group.
Again the three group winners and the best runners-up qualify for the semi-final but in Groups A and B the result against the team that finishes bottom of the group is discarded in determining the best runner-up.
