Amber Barrett gets off and winning at Standard Liege

Milford woman Amber Barrett made her debut for Standard Liege on Saturday, coming on as a substitute in a victory over Club YLA, the women’s team of Club Brugge

Amber Barrett joins Belgian giants Standard Liege

Amber Barrett.

Amber Barrett made her first appearance for Standard Liege on Saturday.

Barrett came on as a substitute in a 1-0 win over Club YLA, the women’s team of Club Brugge.

The 27-year old moved to Liege, the Belgian Cup winners last season, after spells in Germany with FC Köln and Turbine Potsdam.

Last year, Barrett scored the goal against Scotland to secure Ireland’s place at this summer’s World Cup.

The Milford woman was frustrated at limited game time in Australia and will look to catch the eye in her new surroundings in Belgium.,

Mariam Abdulai Toloba scored Liege’s match winner.
