Tyler Toland made a winning start to her Blackburn Rovers career on Saturday.
The St Johnston woman made her Rovers debut in a 1-0 win over Birmingham City in the Barclays Women’s Championship at Ewood Park.
Meg Hornby’s 49th minute strike sealed the win for Simon Parker’s Rovers.
Toland was one of three new signings - alongside Lucy Shepherd and Emma Taylor - to start for Blackburn.
The only goal of the game arrived four minutes into the second half when Georgia Walters threaded through for Hornby, who fired through the legs of Birmingham ‘keeper Lucy Thomas.
Republic of Ireland internationals Lucy Quinn, Louise Quinn and Lily Agg - each of whom featured for Ireland this summer at the World Cup - all played for Birmingham.
The 21-year-old Toland joined Blackburn after spending the last year with Liga F club Levante in Spain.
Toland previously signed for Manchester City before having a loan spell at Glasgow City. After leaving Manchester City in 2021, she signed for Celtic, where the won the Scottish Women's Premier League Cup and Scottish Women’s Cup.
Toland has 13 caps for the Republic of Ireland having been the youngest ever debutant when featuring at just over 16 years of age against Northern Ireland in 2017.
