Letterkenny Rovers pay tribute to the late 'legendary' Patsy Collins

Patsy Collins was a feverant supporter of Letterkenny Rovers FC

Letterkenny Rovers FC have passed on their condolences following the passing of Patsy Collins.

Patsy was a popular figure in and around the Leckview Park-based club, where he volunteered in many ways. A minute's silence was observed for Patsy - and former Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan's Martin brother who passed away this week - this afternoon at Fahy's Field before Rovers' 3-2 win over Mervue United in the FAI Junior Cup.

"The club is deeply saddened to learn of the death of our good friend and valued club member Patsy Collins," Letterkenny Rovers posted. "Affectionately known as ‘Big P’, he was a much-loved character around Leckview Park who wore the club badge with pride.

"He was our legendary kit man for many years as well as a dedicated weekly lotto seller. Win, lose or draw, Patsy always lightened the mood with his good sense of humour and entertaining company. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. We send our heartfelt condolences to the Collins family at this difficult time."
