The boys of St. Eunan's NS Raphoe and the girls of Scoil Mhuire Ramelton were crowned county champions in the Large Schools' section of the Donegal 7s, held at Letterkenny Community Centre on Tuesday.

The annual competition, generously sponsored by Arena 7, showcased the best of primary level football.

St. Eunan's Raphoe, fresh from their appearance at the National 5-a-side finals in the Aviva, defended their Donegal 7s' title by overcoming Glenswilly NS and Gaelscoil Adhamhnáin in the initial rounds.

St. Patrick's NS Lurgybrack showed incredible grit and determination, by securing second place with a hard-fought win against Raphoe in the final game.

A special shoutout to Glenswilly's netminder, Thomas Molloy, who was named Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performance.

In the girls' section, four evenly matched schools competed in a day of brilliant football for the ever improving girls' game. Scoil Mhuire gan Smál Leitir Ceanainn, Scoil Mhuire Ramelton, St. Patrick's NS Lurgybrack, and Scoil Fhionáin Illistrin battled it out over the course of the day.

It was the teamwork of the Scoil Mhuire Ramelton's girls and inspirational display from Player of the Tournament, Ava Grier, that led Scoil Mhuire Ramelton to victory over a well-organised Scoil Mhuire gan Smál Leitir Ceanainn.

A special mention to the Scoil Mhuire gan Smál girls for a fantastic debut in the competition. There's definitely more to come from the Sentry Hill girls in the future.

The competition coordinator was Dessie McGlinchey in conjunction with the Donegal Primary FAIS committee.

The day was perfectly rounded off with Luke and Daniel Doherty, the matchday referees, presenting plaques to the winning captains and players of the tournament.

The snmall schools finals took place on Friday.

SN Naomh Naille were the boys overall winners with SN An Choimin the girls overall winners.

SN Chonaill An Bunbeag and Scoil Cholmcille Acres were the runners-up while the players of the tournament there were Savanna Keys (St Baithins) and Conor Dorrian (An Choimin).
