It was a very special occasion at Leckview Park on Saturday night as the official switching on of Letterkenny Rovers’ new floodlights took place.
Former president and club stalwart Liam Blake was also remembered with a memorial match taking place after.
The official ceremony was attended by Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys who helped press the button alongside Liam’s wife, Patsy Blake.
The project was funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development under the Community Recognition Fund.
Blake, who passed away in July 2022, played a pivotal role in the club’s history as a player, groundskeeper, and leader within the community.
He was club president of Letterkenny Rovers and few were prouder when his team ran out at the Aviva Stadium for the final of the FAI Intermediate Cup back in 2016.
