On 8 minutes, a quick break by Aileach saw Darren McMonagle release Gareth McGlynn down the right.
He cut inside, beat a couple of defenders and clipped a curling effort which just shaved Johnny Noone’s right hand post.
Two minutes later, the home side were ahead when Gareth McGlynn popped up on the left this time and sent a deep cross for Darren McMonagle to head home from close range.
On 20 minutes, it was two, after Shane McMonagle picked the ball up 25 yards from goal and fired a fierce drive which flew past Noone into the top left hand corner.
The home side made it three on the stroke of half time when Shane McMonagle released the over lapping Darren Gallagher who crossed for Darren McMonagle to side foot past Noone from eight yards.
Shortly after the restart, Aileach carved out another good chance when a one two between Gavin Doherty and Shane McMonagle resulted in the latter teeing up his brother, but Darren’s effort from eight yards out clipped the bar and went over.
Just before the hour, Illies got a lifeline when a mix up between goalkeeper and centre half resulted in the ball rolling free to Patrick Curran who finished to the empty net.
This gave Illies renewed hope and they began to boss the midfield putting the Aileach defence under some serious pressure without creating anything clear cut.
Aileach should have added a fourth when Shane McMonagle robbed Johnny Noone and had a clear run on goal but a last ditch tackle from the centre half denied him.
Both teams emptied their benches at this stage and Aileach were able to hold on comfortably for victory.
Redcastle United 0 Cockhill Celtic 7
The defending league champions created the first chance of the game on 6 minutes when Garbhan Friel threaded a ball through for Jay Bradley who fired narrowly wide of the post.
Cockhill created another chance on 18 minutes after a Lee McLaughlin cross found Jack Mullen but he headed over the bar.
Redcastle responded midway through the half and when Shaun Curran found Darragh McConway he fired just over the bar.
The visitors replied minutes later and a Brendan Mclaughlin cross from the left was headed over by Damien Duffy. Cockhill did take the lead in the 36th minute after a Bredan Mclaughlin corner saw a scramble develop and Duffy fired the loose ball home from close range. Cockhill increased their lead on 55 minutes after Seamus Houghton parried a free kick but Duffy was on hand to slot the loose ball home.
From the kick off the home side almost got a goal back when Curran released McConway who was one on one but Harry Doherty turned his well hit shot around the post for a corner.
Cockhill upped the tempo and on 69 minutes Friel fed Mullan who crossed for Friel to hit a superb half volley past Houghton.
Cockhill added a fourth goal on 76 minutes when Mullan crossed to Stephen Doherty who fired a superb twenty five yards effort into the top corner.
The visitors continued to press and when Friel fed Liam Grant his effort was well saved by Houghton but the loose ball was slotted home by Corey McBride.
The visitors added two late goals then with Bobby Bradley heading home before McBride grabbed his second both after getting on the end of Lee McColgan crosses.
Greencastle FC 0 Carn FC 1
The visitors started the better and both Lorcan Bradley and Ryan Kelly fired efforts over the bar from the edge of the area.
The home side replied with Conor Gillen feeding Cormac Bradley who dragged his effort narrowly wide.
Play swung back to the other end and Bradley saw a long range effort saved by Brendan McClenaghan before Ross Farren failed to hit the target when well placed. Greencastle tried to respond again and Nathan Harkin had two free kicks dealt with by the Carn defence and goalkeeper Daniel McDaid.
The final chance of the half fell to the visitors after Ciaran O Kane latched onto a long ball but was off target from twenty five yards.
In the early part of the second half the visitors pressed with McClenaghan in the home goal punching clear a dangerous corner from Kelly before saving well from a Conor McLaughlin long range effort.
But Greencastle hit back and Bradley fired two efforts over the bar before Conor Gillen and Nathan Harkin seeing efforts saved by Daniel McDaid.
Carn then had a spell with Mark Doherty heading a Ryan Kelly cross wide , Michael McDermott off target with another effort and McClenaghan denying Kalvin McLaughlin from twenty five yards.
Both sides were looking for the victory and Cian Sharkey and Gillen then both had efforts saved by McDaid.
On the stroke of full time Cade Cooke saw his well struck shot brilliantly tipped onto the bar by McClenaghan.
But the hom esides hearts were broken deep in injury time when Cooke despatched ap penalty to claim all three points.
Buncrana Hearts 9 Culdaff FC 0
League leaders Buncrana Hearts dominated the game and early chances fell to Kevin O Loughlin who headed wide,
Bart Wesolowski whose spectacular overhead kick crashed off the pots and Matthew Brown who flicked a close range effort over the bar. On 17 minutes Caolan Doherty threaded a ball through for Liam Quigley but he was denied by a fine save from Patrick McLaughlin.
The Hearts did break the deadlock when Zach McFadden fed Brown who finished superbly past Mclaughlin.
Midway through the half they added a second after Eoin Murphy glanced a header past Mclaughlin at the bear post following Dohertys corner.
When Wesolowski s superb run and cross from the right found Quigley he volleyed home to make it three nil. Before half time the home side added a fourth from a Calvin Gallagher corner which Wesolowksi headed home from six yards.
Culdaff had the first opportunity of the second period after Aidan Cunningham raced onto a through ball but his well hit shit was turned around the post by Taylor Clarke.
The home side continued on top and Wesolowski added their fifth goal when he converted from closer range after an Adam Curran cross.
Wesolowski then completed his hat trick tapping in from close range after a Calvin Gallagher corner fell kindly for him.
Liam Quigley then volleyed past Mclaughlin before Caolan Doherty rounded the keeper and unselfishly squared for Liam Jordan to score.
Calvin Gallagher completed then rout when his free kick squeezed past Mclaughlin. Culdaff to their credit kept going to the end and Jack O Brien unleashed a superb effort which crashed off the bar in the final action of the game.
Charlie O’Donnell Group Play-Off
Dunree United 3 Moville Celtic 1 AET
With all three games in the group ending in draws this play off in Maginn Park was necessitated as both had scored more goals than Buncrana Res.
Jamie Brosnan had an early free kick well gathered by Ruan Coyle in the Moville goal. At the other end Deaglan Lynch flashed a great ball across goal but there were no takers. On 33 minutes Lee McColgan fed Norbert Indyka who in turn released Conor Lafferty but his effort was well saved by Adam Harrigan in the Dunree goal. At the other end Darryl Moran was well placed inside the area but again Coyle saved.
Moville then had another chance when when Indyka found Luke McFadden but he blazed over.
Dunree broke the deadlock on the stroke of half time after Sean McColgan collected possession twenty five yards out and unleashed a sweet strike to the bottom corner.
In the early exchanges of the second half Lynch and Lafferty had efforts easily dealt with for Moville while at the other end Adan Barrett and Brosnan were off target.
Moville pressed for an equaliser and Lafferty and jack Lee saw shots saved by Harrigan.
Then in injury time Laffertys attempted lob was clawed away by Harrigan to McFadden whose header was deemed to have crossed the line by the assistant referee to send the game to extra time.
In extra time a Lafferty cross just eluded McFadden sliding in at the back post. A minute later Dunree regained the lead after a scramble in the area saw a number of shots blocked before it fell to McColgan to again hammer to the net.
Dunree sealed their passage to the semi final after Brosnan got on the end of McColgans cross to steer the ball home.
HML Plant Hire Division One
Aileach Res 2 Glengad United 4
Aileach began well and on 8 minutes Kevin Boyle broke clear of the visitors defence but his low shot was blocked by the legs of Michael Mclaughlin.
They opened the scoring on 21 minutes when Ciaran Bradley pounced on a loose ball on the edge of the area to drill low into the corner. Glengad replied with a Seamus Doherty free well saved by Dillon Porter.
But the visitors equalised on 33 minutes after Glengads Stephen Doherty blocked down Porters clearance and slotted the ball home Aileach regained the lead then before the interval after their Stephen Doherty released Jack McClean and he drilled low across Mclaughlin and inside the far post.
But again Glengad go back on terms five minutes after the break when Seamus Doherty converted a penalty after Owen Doherty had been upended.
They then took the lead for the first time on 68 minutes when Stephen Doherty hammered a free kick to the roof of the net.
The same player completed his hat trick with a fine strike from twenty yards in the 80th minute to put Glengad four two ahead.
The home side kept trying and had the final chance after an Emmet McCarron cross was flicked on to Stephen Doherty but he headed over.
Inishowen Engineering Division Two
Rashenny YOUTH 2 Aileach Youth 3
Aileach started this game well and spurned two great opportunities in the opening twenty minutes.
Firstly Aaron Doherty broke clear of the home defence but shot straight at Sam Coyle in the home goal.
Then a Doherty cross foudnd Ryan Wilson who was denied by a brilliant point blank save from Coyle.
They had another chance midway through the half after Aaron Doherty Clarke cut in from the left but fired past the far post.
Against the run of play the home side opened the scoring on 31 minutes when a free kick from Adbul Al Rasheed was parried by Dylan Clarke only for Trevor Doherty to fire to the roof of the net.
Aileach hit back and Daithi Grant saw a free sail over the bar before the break. It got better for the home side seven minutes after the restart when Shea Grant advanced and released Caolan Doherty to squeeze the ball past Clarke from a tight angle.
But Aileach rallied and got a goal back from the penalty spot with Aaron Doherty converting after John Eyre was upended.
Eyre then equalised on 70 minutes when he fired home a free kick past Coyle. Doherty then had another chance for the visitors when he raced clear but saw his shot crash back off the post.
But the same player completed the turnaround when he raced onto Eyres flick to finish well from just inside the area.
The home side had a chance to salvage a point late on when OJ Cuffe broke clear of the visitors defence only to be denied by a good save from Clarke.
Rashenny RES 2 Glengad Res 1
In the early exchanges Michael Doherty for the visitors had an effort saved by Conor McGonagle while at the other end Davin Mclaughlin was denied by Ronan Lafferty in the Glengad goal.
Rashenny spurned a gilt edged chance after Callum Doherty was upended but Caylum Long fired wide from the spot.
Long then saw an effort crash back off the post before another shot was turned round the post by Lafferty.
Doherty and Long then combined again but the latter failed to hit the target when well placed. Glengad responded before the break with Jack Lafferty’s corner headed over by Patrick Mclaughlin as the half ended scoreless.
Glengad started the second half well and Michael Doherty was twice denied by good saves from McGonagle. Glengad did take the lead midway through the half after Lafferty released PJ McDaid who fired high past McGonalge from fourteen yards.
But Rashenny equalised on 70 minutes after Davin Mclaughlin raced onto a long ball and finished low past Lafferty.
The home side struck for the winner with ten minutes remaining after a Cian long effort was well saved by Lafferty but Caylum Long pounced to drill the loose ball home.
Glengad had a late chance to salvage a draw but McDaids twenty yards effort was saved by McGonagle.
Sea Rovers 4 Carn Res 0
The home team started strong and an early attack saw a good cross in from Mattew Mooney fall to Christy Mc Daid who opened the scoring with a fine diving header.
Minutes later Rovers doubled the lead after Mooney took a corner and the ball fell to the feet of Oisin Hasson who tapped in from close range .
Carn settled and played some good football coming close through a shot from Ryan O Donnell which went just wide of the post.
Defences were on top after this until the break. After an even start to the second half but a lapse in concentration in the Carn defence allowed Rovers Declan Mc Gonagle to nip in and touch the ball to Mathew Mooney who finished well to make it three nil.
A loose ball on the edge of the Rovers box was gathered by Carns Shane Mc Guinness whose shot went over the bar.
A fine solo effort then from Mathew Doherty saw him beat two defenders and he finished low to the corner to give the home side a four goal advantage.
Another effort by Rovers saw Connor Kelly put a high ball in for Mathew Doherty but the Carn keeper Jack O Brien dealt with it.
In the dying minutes of the game Mathew Mooney and Mathew Doherty combined well up front with Mooney beating the defence to go one on one with the keeper but O Brien stood well with the rebound coming out to Doherty whose shot was equally well saved by O’Brien.
Ulster Junior Shield
Cockhill COLTS 2 Strand Rovers 3
After an even opening Cockhill took the lead on 14minutes when Gavin Doherty's corner from the left missed the first man and fell to Liam McCarron who reacted well to control and finish past Cormac Hanlon.
Strand were almost level midway through the half after a free kick was headed down but with a Strand forward ready to convert, a brilliant clearance from Marty Bradley denied them.
Strand continued to press and went close again when Conor Greene's half volley went narrowly over but they were level on 31minutes.
A long throw released Darren O'Donnell. His shot was parried by Declan Caldwell but Jack Treacy was on hand to score from close range.
Cockhill had a great chance to regain the lead within minutes when they were awarded a penalty after Mark Moran was bundled over in the box.
Moran himself took the penalty but Hanlon saved low to his right. Cockhill were made to pay when Strand took the lead.
A free kick from deep was not dealt with. It dropped to Chris Boyle whose improvised volley at the back post went in off the post.
The visitors made it three one just before half time when a right wing corner gave Greene a free header which he dispatched easily.
Cockhill started the second half with intent and a Bernard Gubbins cross from the left found Kevin McDaid but his header was well saved by Hanlon.
McDaid went close again on 66minutes but his clever turn and shot was again well saved by Hanlon.
The pressure told shortly after when a great run and cross from Gavin Doherty was finished at the back post by McCarron for his, and Cockhill's, second.
Despite almost constant territorial pressure for the remainder of the game Cockhill were unable to find an equaliser with the Strand rearguard denying any clear cut chances.
Illies Res 3 Whitestrand United 2 AET
The home side began well and in the opening minute John Campbell saw an effort rebound off the post.
The same player had another chance when he broke clear but fired straight at Michael Coyle in the Whitestrand goal.
The pressure told on 22 minutes after a corner was cleared to the edge of the area where Neil Moran drove through a crowd of players to open the scoring.
Illies made it two nil on the half hour after a superb ball from Caelan Whoriskey found Campbell to hammer to the roof of the net. But before half time the visitors reduced the deficit after David McLaughlin’s deep cross was headed home by Michael Sweeney.
Ten minutes into the second period the visitors got back on terms when after a scramble in the area Sweeney blasted to the roof of the net.
Illies then had a late chance to snatch the win but Campbell blazed over when well placed. Illies regained the lead in extra time after a Marty Coyle effort was well parried but Campbell reacted first to tap home.
At the other end Conor Doherty made a great save low to his right to deny Sweeney a hat trick.
Illies had the final chance of the game with Campbell breaking into the area but dragging his effort wide.
Convoy Arsenal 2 Cockhill Youths 1
Played under the lights in Convoy on Friday evening Cockhill suffered a surprise defeat. Cockhill started well and Danny McDaid had an effort saved on 17 minutes.
The visitors continued to press but failed to create much in the final third. Before the break a Convoy free kick delivered into the area saw a scramble develop and the ball cannoned off a Cockhill defender and into the net.
Cockhill upped the tempo in the second half and McDaid, Conor Allen and Conor McDaid all spurned good chances.
On the break the home side hit the visitors and doubled their lead in the 76th minute. Cockhill kept pressing and got a late consolation with a Darragh McDermott header but they will rue the failure to take the chances that came there way.
Culdaff Res 7 Gweedore United Res 0
The home side began well but they had to wait until the 26th minute to have their first attempt on target after Gary Collins fed Bryan McCandless whose effort was gathered on the goal line at the second attempt by Ramon Collum in the Gweedore goal.
Two minutes later a corner from Dylan Mclaughlin found its way to Dermot Diver who blasts over from close range.
The home side did take the lead on 35 minutes after Euan McFeely s defence splitting pass sent McCandless clear and he drilled low past Collum to open the scoring.
They spurned another chance then from another corner with Diver again blazing wide from twelve yards.
The home side did double their lead on 39 minutes with Paul Fishers deep cross retrieved by Jack Curley who laid it back for McCandles to finish brilliantly to the top corner from twelve yards.
The home side continued to dominate and a Gary Smyth cross is flicked on by Fisher but clips the crossbar on the way over.
Gweedore almost got a goal back just before half time after Callum Ferriters ball over the top found Teagan Coyle whose attempted lob was pushed around the post by Odhran Douglas.
The home side resumed in control after the break and increased their lead when McCandless bagged his hat trick controlling McFeelys cross on his chest and slotting left footed past Collum.
Culdaff then made it four nil after substitute Manus Doherty played McFeely through and he finished low to the corner to extend the home sides lead.
Culdaff made it five nil after substitutes Jack Mills and Cillian McKinley combined well for the latter to finish low past Collum. Two quick fire goals from Manus Doherty then made it seven nil to the home side.
For the first he swivelled inside the box and drilled low to the corner while his second was a powerful left footed effort from twenty yards.
Gweedore had the final effort of the game when Francis Gallagher s effort from twenty yards sailed over the bar.
Moville Res 0 Buncrana Res 4
First division Buncrana were too strong for the home side who play in Division Two at Glencrow.
Hugh Aaron McGonagle got on the end of an Ethan Soal cross for the visitors early on but fired wide before Eoin McNamee saw an effort well saved by Stephen Teles.
Moville hit back and jay Gillen created opportunities for Eghor Hreshylov who was denied by a last ditch tackle and harry Connaughton who was denied by Eoghan O Doherety s smothering save.
McNamee broke the deadlock on the half hour when he headed home at the bear post following a corner.
The visitors doubled their lead then after Mc Gonagle s cross was slotted home from close range by Soal. Before half time Teles made a superb save to deny Ryan McHugh.
Buncrana started the second hald well and added a third goal with McGonagle s effort from inside the area deflected past Teles.
Teles then made a fine reflex save from Soal before also denying Mc Hugh with another good save.
At the other end Jay Gillen advanced and unleashed a well struck effort which drew a good save from O’Doherty. But McGonagle completed the scoring late on after pouncing on a defensive error to slot past the stranded Teles.
Gleneely Colts 2 Newtowne Res 2 Gleneely win 4-3 on pens
Gleneely started the strongest with Shane Diver coming close with a long range shot which went narrowly passed the post.
The deadlock was broken in the 15th minute when Cian Mulligan raced down the left and crossed in for Niall Fitzpatrick to tap home from close range.
The visitors doubled their lead minutres later after a mix up at the back allowed Craig Ebbit to tap into an empty net.
Gleneely got going again and were unlucky not to half the deficit with a long range shot from Paul Doherty which the keeper parried but Kyron Cantwell failed to finish.
In the second half Gleneely controlled the game and were rewarded with a goal from Kyron Cantwell after great work from Shane Diver down the right who squared it to Cantwell..
The got the equaliser on the 70th minute when Cody Forbes unleashed a thunderous shot from 20 yards but again the keeper parried it but Cantwell was on hand to tuck in from eight yards.
Gleneely kept pressing for the win but Newtown held strong and the game ended in a penalty shootout which Gleneely won four three to take them into the next round.
Carn Youth 5 Drumoghill Celtic 3
Carn opened the scoring in the third minute when Olly Coyles cross came off the defender and Dayton Cooke was there to hit to the top right corner of the net from fifteen yards.
Carn got another one minutes later after Shay McDaid made a great run, rounded the defender and squared it for Dayton Cooke who shot low to the right corner of the net fifteen yards.
Drumoghill got one back following a handball incident in the box and Liam O’Donnell converted the resulting penalty.
Drumoghill almost drew level then when Ciaran Hunter made a great run on the right wing and crossed it for Richard Tinney who headed the ball right but wide of the post from ten yards.
Carn responded with Dylan Cooke s pass from midfield found Olly Coyle who hit a powerful shot to the top left corner of the net but was well saved by Ryan Lockhart in the Drumoghill goal.
Carn had a great chance on 50 minutes when Tiernan Doherty broke on the left wing and squared it for Dayton Cooke but he failed to hit the target when well placed.
Drumoghill drew level just after the hour when Gareth Hamilton broke on the left wing and crossed it for Liam O’Donnell who shot low past Kyle Harkin from fifteen yards.
But Carn regained the lead almost immediately when a Dylan Cooke long pass from midfield came off the defender and fell to Tiernan Doherty who shot low to the left corner of the net from just inside the area.
However Drumoghill again levelled after Gareth Hamilton was upended in the area and Liam O’Donnell completed his hat trick converting the resulting penalty.
The home side upped the tempo and a mazy run from Coyle ended with him shooting just wide before they regained the lead when Dayton Cooke fired a free kick from the left outside the 18 yard box to the top right corner of the net.
Carn sealed the tie in injury time when Cooke s pass from midfield found sub Sheagan Doherty who beat the defender and shot low past Lockhart .
QPS 3 Bonagee Res 0
The point dominated the opening half and broke the deadlock on 15 minutes when Conor Barrow latched onto a long ball over the top and rounded Callum Crampsey to slot home.
They doubled their lead on the half hour when Josh Boyle scored direct from a corner with the ball going into the net at the front post.
On the stroke of half time the home side went three nil up when Barrow dispossessed a defender and rounded the keeper again to slot to the net.
The visitors improved after the break and on 55 minutes Brian Drum cut inside from the right and unleashed an effort which came off the outside of the post and wide.
But the home side finished the game strongly with Ronan Mailey denied by a good save from Crampsey. Late on Barrow had two effort to grab his hat trick but fired one over the bar and dragged another wide.
Donegal Town 3 Carrowmena FC 2 AET
The Inishowen side will be kicking themselves as they led here by two goals to nil with fifteen minutes remaining and fell to defeat in extra time against ten man Donegal Town.
Carrowmena had the first opportunity after Cahir McElhinney fed Ryan McDermott who brought a good save from the home keeper.
The home side got on top then for a spell but were restricted to long range efforts which failed to trouble Rhys Kerr in the Carrowmena goal.
The visitors opened the scoring on 43 minutes when after McElhinneys free was cleared Darragh McGuinness returned the ball to the back post where Rhys Davenport was unmarked to slot home.
They doubled their lead before the hour mark when Ciaran Bonner despatched a superb twenty five yards free to the top corner and at this stage they looked well on their way to victory.
But they failed to deal with a long ball over the top and the home side capitalised to reduce the deficit.
Then just before full time the home side equalised from the penalty spot after a foul in the area. Donegal were then reduced to ten men and Carrowena dominated the extra time but failed to create a clear chance.
They paid the price late on after again failing to deal with a ball over the top and the home side converted to advance to the next round.
Kildrum Res 2 Rashenny FC 1
The home side created the first opening when Conor Friel’s delivery into the near post reached Aaron Temple who’s effort was held by Sam Coyle.
Rasheney threatened when Gareth McKeever’s header forwards was taken down by David McLaughlin but Tigers giant keeper Aaron Hepburn blocked and claimed.
Then from a poor kickout, Kildrum quickly gained possession and Daniel McNulty bore down on goal only to be deprived inside the area by a great tackle from Peter Doherty.
At the other end when the home side failed to clear its lines David McLaughlin latched onto the ball wide on the right and set up McKeever but his low ground shot was held by Hepburn.
Close to the break Aaron O’Donnell ran clear along the left wing and cut inside but with Coyle advancing he drove wildly over from the angle of the area and almost immediately fellow forward Temple could fare no better when he ran in on goal and shot wide from close in.
Kildrum continued to apply pressure after the interval. From a corner C.J. Clarke headed towards the target and Coyle claimed just before Temple could get a touch.
The scoring was opened when a right wing corner to the near post was not dealt with and Temple was on hand to drive low to the net from inside the six yard box.
The lead was short lived however and when Ryan Doherty delivered long from just inside his own half Patrick Doherty managed to gain control near the left end line before moving the ball inside to Anthony Doherty who drove low across goal and into the far corner for the equaliser.
The home side pushed to regain the lead and when sub Shane McNulty was sent clear beyond the Rasheney defence goalkeeper Coyle read the danger, advanced outside his area and cleared.
In another attack Temple had a shot blocked resulting in Daniel McNulty firing over from an angle. With four minutes to go Kildrum struck for the winner.
The ball was launched long out of the home defence up to Shane McNulty just yards inside the Rasheney half.
He gained possession and scampered forward to force a one on one situation with Coyle who forced him wide before the ball was driven into the gaping net.
