Molde goalkeeper Sean McDermott will be in action against Shamrock Rovers in Europe
There will be Donegal interest in Shamrock Rovers’ UEFA Conference League last 16 play-off against Molde with goalkeeper Sean McDermott having strong Mountcharles roots.
McDermott is Norwegian born – in Kristiansand – but qualifies for Ireland as his father Terence is a native of Mountcharles.
McDermott, (31) was called into Republic of Ireland senior squads in the past under Martin O’Neill and Mick McCarthy and also won six caps for the Under-21s.
He joined Arsenal in 2009 from IK Våg and was loaned to Leeds United in 2012 for a month, the same year he left Arsenal.

Rovers slipped out of the top eight on the final day of the league phase, as Chelsea ran riot to secure top spot with a 5-1 victory at Stamford Bridge.
By finishing 10th, the League of Ireland club ensured they would be on the seeded side of the play-off draw, which was held on Friday afternoon in Nyon, Switzerland.
