Goalkeeper Paddy McGarvey during his days with the Republic of Ireland underage teams, has moved to Ballinamallard United
Former Finn Harps goalkeeper and Dungloe native Paddy McGarvey has made the move from Keadue Rovers to join Ballinamallard United in the Irish League.
Mark Stafford, the Mallards' manager, expressed his satisfaction with the signing stating: "We are pleased to sign Paddy who has been playing at Keadue Rovers since the start of the season following an injury the previous season that kept him out of contention.
"Although only 22 years old Paddy has a positive track record with Finn Harps, Derview, as well as with the Republic of Ireland U-15, U-17, and U-19 international."
He has also represented Ireland in schoolboy football and McGarvey was Dergivew Player of the Year in the 2022/2023 campaign.
Commenting on his new club, McGarvey shared: "I’m pleased to have the opportunity to again get involved in senior football with Ballinamallard United.
"I’ve struck a great relationship with the rest of the squad and looking forward to playing my part in the Championship."
At present, Ballinamallard United sits in 10th place out of 12 teams in the NIFL Championship.
