SN an Choimín emerged victorious in a tense Letterkenny Cup final, securing a 3-0 win over Scoil Mhuire, Ramelton after extra time in the Donegal Primary Schools 11-a-side girls’ competition.

The two sides, well acquainted from last year’s final, battled fiercely in Wednesday morning’s decider. Both teams created chances in normal time, but neither could find the breakthrough as defences held firm.

With the score still level at full-time, the match went to extra time. The deadlock was finally broken midway through the second period when SN an Choimín found a way past Ramelton’s resolute defence.

Two quickfire goals followed, securing a 3-0 victory and ensuring the Letterkenny Cup would return to SN an Choimín.

Referee Vincent McLaughlin presented the trophy to winning captain Sinéad McMeanman, while Molly Ní Ghallachóir was named Player of the Match for her outstanding performance throughout the game.
