Sean Patton was again on the scoresheet for Reading Under-21s

Donegal teenager Sean Patton was the matchwinner for the second week in a row as Reading Under-21s defeated Nottingham Forest in the Premier League 2.

The Drumkeen man started for the London club and scored the only goal of the game in Division 1 away to the Nottingham side at the Loughborough University Stadium on Monday night.

It comes off the back of the 19-year-old hitting a brilliant 17-minute hat-trick against Blackburn Rovers seven days previously as they picked up their first win of the season.

Patton joined EFL League One club Reading from Derry City, having also played on loan at Finn Harps, on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee, in September.

Patton, who attended St Eunan’s College in Letterkenny, came through the Finn Harps academy before moving to Derry City and then lined out for Harps on loan.

He scored his first goal for Reading's first team in October in a 1–0 victory over Milton Keynes Dons in the EFL Trophy.

His league debut for the club came in November, coming off the bench as a late substitute for Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan in a 3–0 win away to Blackpool at Bloomfield Road in League One.
