Sean Patton made his full league debut for Reading in their win over Burton Albion in League One.

The Drumkeen man started and played 66 minutes before being substituted for Kelvin Ehibatiomhan with the score at 1-1.

George Evans opened the scoring for the home side, Burton, before Kamari Doyle levelled the game up before half-time.

And it was Ehibatiomhan who scored the winner on 88 minutes as the London club moved into the play-offs.

Patton joined Reading from Derry City last summer, impressing for the Under-21s before going out on loan to National League side Aldershot, scoring five times in six games before being recalled by Leam Richardson.

The 19-year-old came on in wins over Bradford City and Luton Town, as well as in a loss to Mansfield Town, before he was given his first start on St Patrick’s Day.

Stephen McLaughlin came on as a substitute for Mansfield in their 1-1 draw with Bradford, leaving them 15th in the table.

Ronan Curtis set up the only goal of the game as Plymouth Argyle beat Stevenage to keep them in the play-off hunt.

Plymouth moved up to tenth in the league, but they are only two points behind Reading.
