Kildrum Tigers dumped Ulster Senior League side Letterkenny Rovers out of the Knockalla Caravans Senior Cup.
In a Sunday evening game reversed to the Letterkenny Community Centre, with Station Road Park unplayable earlier in the afternoon, the Tigers came out on top.
Daniel Clarke, who has been in super scoring form for Shane McGinty’s team this season, fired Kildrum in front.
Shane Coyle stuck a second for the St Johnston men.
Jack Dwyer pulled a late goal back for Rovers, but Kildrum upset the odds if not the form book to book a semi-final spot.
In Sunday’s other quarter-final, teenage goalkeeper Fintan Doherty saved a penalty as Derry City Reserves defeated Cockhill Celtic.
Garbhan Friel looked to have won the game for Cockhill in normal time as he scored with just three minutes remaining.
However, Luca Doherty took the tie to extra time with a stoppage time leveller and the Candystripes won 3-2 on penalties.
