Shane Barr and Trevor Scanlon present Cappry Rovers committee members with the FAI Club Mark award.
Cappry Rovers have become the latest club in Donegal to be awarded an FAI Club Mark.
FAI Regional Development Officer Shane Barr and Regional Manager Trevor Scanlon were at Cappry Park on Tuesday evening to present the award to the club.
“It has been a great few weeks for the club,” Cappry Rovers Chairperson Paddy McNulty told Donegal Live.
“Just last week we received great news for the sports capital grant receiving almost €99,000 to upgrade our grass pitch and surroundings.
“Now the club has been awarded the FAI Club Mark, which is a great achievement for our club.
“This shows the best practice in the governance , management and administration of the club at this present time.
“We are delighted to receive this and its a credit to all the people at the club who volunteer, coach and to the committee for all their hard work.”
In recent years, Cappry have become an established club in the Premier Division of the Donegal League while also fielding a reserve side in the Saturday League.
They have been competitive for a long number of years in the Donegal Schoolboys League and this year added girls teams to their bow for the first time.
McNulty added: “We won’t stop here. We aim to continue to develop the club further on and off the field and get to the next stage in the FAI club awards, the FAI Club 1 star award.”
