Shane McGinty has returned to Ballinamallard United.
Mallards boss Harry McConkey believes McGinty can be a ‘real positive influence’ after bringing the midfielder back to Ferney Park.
The 28-year-old St Johnston man spent two years at Ballinamallard from 2016-2018.
After spells at Ballymena United and Dungannon Swifts, McGinty joins a strong Donegal contingent at the club.
McGinty’s friend and neighbour Michael Lynch was signed by Ballinamallard last week while BJ Banda - who scored 19 goals last season - is another important player in the squad.
“He's a quality midfield player who can run any game on his day,” McConkey said of McGinty.
“Last season was a difficult one for Shane at Dungannon Swifts due to an unfortunate ankle injury.
“I know he now simply wants to make up for lost time and give everything for a club that he truly cares about.
“I want him to play again with a smile on his face and drive on those around him. He can be a real positive influence for us on and off the pitch.”
McGinty also doubles up as the manager of Donegal League Premier Division side Kildrum Tigers.
