Clubs learn fate for FAI Junior Cup second round

Two-time Intermediate Cup winners Fanad United have been handed a home draw in the second round

The draw for the second round of the FAI Junior Cup has thrown up a couple of tasty ties.

Fanad United, the two-time FAI Intermediate Cup winners, have been drawn at home to Castlefin Celtic in an all-Donegal League Premier Division clash.

Eoin Logue scored two penalties when Fanad defeated Letterkenny Rovers at Traigh-A-Loch in the opening round.

Castlefin were 4-3 winners over Bonagee United and Raymond Foy’s men will head for Fanad in round two.

Inishowen League Premier Division hopefuls Buncrana Hearts and Moville Celtic will go head-to-head at Castle Park while Glengad United will welcome Cockhill Celtic Youths to The Crua.

The second round ties are pencilled in for the weekend of October 16.


FAI Junior Cup second round: Glengad United v Cockhill Celtic Youths; Milford United v Cappry Rovers; Buncrana Hearts v Moville Celtic; Aileach FC v Glaslough Villa; Fanad United v Castlefin; Rathmullan Celtic v Greencastle FC.
