The cast of 'Nobodys Talking To Me' will be on stage next Thursday, Friday and Saturday
There’s a change of the guard happening at Kilcar Variety Group with the younger generation taking as they take to the stage for their upcoming two-act comedy play ‘Nobody’s Talking To Me’.
The cast is mainly made up of students from Coláiste Na Carraige and they are very much excited in regards to the challenge of their very first stage play with most having had some experience when they performed in the school musical ‘Super Trooper' earlier this year.
Director Paul Hegarty is anticipating that they are more than capable of the challenge with so much talent throughout this vibrant young cast.
“We decided to give the younger generation a crack at a play to give the usual suspects a well-earned break and the new kids on the block have taken on their roles with minimal fuss, a joy to work with,” Paul said.
The show runs for three nights only, on Thursday, December 7, Friday 8, and Saturday 9, in Aislann Chill Chartha starting at 8pm each night. Tickets are €10 and you can book them by calling the Aislann reception at 074-97-38376.
All proceeds from the production go to a wonderful new charity Slieve Liag Special Needs Support Group.
“The cast wanted to do the play for a great local cause and they hope to see as many coming out to support the cause before the festive season,” Assistant Director Patrick McShane said. “There’s plenty of hilarious comedy, full of plenty -laughs throughout, you won’t be disappointed”.
The play is set in rural Ireland 1969 and it’s the day of Mattie and Maggie Conway's 50th wedding anniversary. However, very few people know that the “happy couple” haven't spoken a word to each other for 10 years. When the local Parish Priest arrives to surprise them and to renew their wedding vows, all hell breaks loose.
