Pro boxing is set to make a dramatic return to Donegal.

Donegal Live understands that the Aura Leisure Complex in Letterkenny has been booked for a show on November 18.

Details of the bill have not yet been confirmed, but it seems as if the first pro show in 13 years will be staged in the Cathedral Town.

Talks are believed to be at an advanced stage and an announcement is imminent with a former European amateur champion and Olympian expected to be top of the bill.

Brian Peters, now Katie Taylor’s manager, held shows in Letterkenny in 2008 and 2010.

In October 2010, Dungiven’s Paul McCloskey stopped Barry Morrison in the seventh round at the Aura to win the EBU European super lightweight title in a bout screened live on RTE Two.

Donegal boxer Michael McLaughlin made his pro debut with a drawn bout against Valentin Stoychev.

In March 2008, the John Breen-trained McCloskey defeated Cesar Bazan on points.
