GAA President Jarlath Burns with his Downings GAA club ticket
Downings GAA club has announced a change of date for its Helicopter Drop fundraiser, moving it forward to Saturday, November 30.
The event was originally set for Sunday, December 1, but a scheduling conflict with their All-Ireland Junior Championship semi-final has prompted the adjustment.
The semi-final, where Downings will face Kildare’s Kilcock, is set to take place on Sunday at 1pm. To avoid any overlap, the fundraiser will now take place the day before, kicking off at 2pm.

Funds raised from the Helicopter Drop will go towards installing floodlights at the club’s grounds, providing much-needed facilities for both juvenile and adult teams to train during the winter months.
The unique event will feature five footballs dropped from a helicopter onto the club’s pitch, with cash prizes of €25,000, €5,000, €2,000 (two prizes), and €1,000 on offer.
