Donegal native and goalkeeper Charlie McGarvey and Derry City player Jamie O'Donnell have been called up to the Ireland U-15 side who will face Portugal in an International Friendly double-header in Lisbon this week.

McGarvey lived in Letterkenny, with his parents Mandy and Kevin being from Kilcar and Glencolmcille respectively, where he played both football and GAA before moving to Sligo where he now plays for Sligo Rovers.

The Donegal native made his Ireland international debut last September as the Irish U-15 team overcame Slovenia 5-2 in the UEFA Development Tournament in Croatia.

For O'Donnell, it'll be a first cap for the Derry City forward who moved from Cockhill Celtic last February.

For this week, head coach Jason Donohue has named a squad of 20 for the games on Friday (November 22) and Sunday (November 24), as the young Ireland team gets to take on one of Europe’s most talented nations.

There are six first-time call-ups to the squad. Shamrock Rovers trio Alex Byrne, Johnny Collins, and Alex Culleton are all included along with Bohemians pair Max Dunne and Ben Nichols.

Both games will be played at the historic Stadio Nacional Do Jamor in Lisbon, the venue for the 1967 European Cup where Celtic overcame Inter Milan 2-1.
