Bumper crowd at Raphoe Boxing Club tournament

There was a bumper attendance at a very successful Raphoe Boxing Club tournament in Lifford Community Centre on Saturday night.

In all 14 contests took place with Raphoe BC members taking on boxers from throughout the North West.

Lee Doherty outpointed Tommy De Ward, Twin Towns

Danny Buchanan lost on points to Andrew Cunningham, Carndonagh

Liam Crawford outpointed Adam Boyle, Dungloe

Liam McMonagle lost on points to Ethan McCaul, St. Joseph’s, Derry

Oran Devine outpointed Hugh Doherty, St. Bridget’s

Tom Doherty lost on points to Kernan Ming, Illies GG

Melanie Penrose lost on points to Christina McFadden, Dunfanaghy

Conor McGurk lost on points to Oisin Devlin, Carndonagh

Gareth Craig outpointed Raymond Rogan, Oak Leaf, Derry

Denis Lafferty outpointed Jamie Spollan, Ballyshannon

Paddy McConigley, Letterkenny outpointed Liam Gallagher, Finn Valley

Denis Doogan lost on points to David Tennyson, Dungloe

Adam Sweeney lost on points to Noel Hegarty, Letterkenny.

Exhibition: Oran McDermott, Raphoe and Lee Boyce, Convoy.

Tournaments next week - Thursday, 24: Carndonagh BC in Malin Hotel, Malin; Friday 25th, Carrigart BC in Carrigart Parochial Hall; Saturday 26th, Illies Golden Gloves in Plaza, Buncrana.

There will be a special night of boxing on Thursday, 21st April when the Boston Academy take on a Donegal selection in the Clanree Hotel as part of their 4 day stay in the county. Tickets available from any of the 18 clubs in Donegal.
