Second half goals from Joshua O’Brien (2) and Sean Conneely powered CBS Ennistymon from Clare to the All-Ireland Senior C PPS Football decider following a commanding 3-12 to 0-06 triumph over Ulster champions St Columba’s, Stranorlar at the NUI Galway Connacht GAA Air Dome in Ballyhaunis.

The Clare school held an 0-5 to 0-2 half-time lead but powered home in the second half to reach the All-Ireland C final.

St Columba's, Stranorlar had high hopes of making the decider after their decisive 1-14 to 0-6 Ulster final victory over Virginia of Cavan in the Ulster final last week at Templeport. They were up against a physically stronger side, who had five members of the Clare minor team involved.

But it was not be as they came up against a well-drilled Ennistymon CBS side, who simply had too much firepower. The St Columba's side had not conceded a goal in their last three games in winning Ulster, but this was a step too far.

The Stranorlar boys had a goal chance in the first half when Andrew Murray powered through, but the effort ended going over the bar. The first Ennistymon goal some 10 minutes into the second half put them 1-8 to 0-4 ahead and sealed the win and they added the others late on.
