Two arrests in Donegal following cross-border vehicle theft

Gardaí encountered a vehicle which they believed to be stolen and deployed a stinger device to halt it, before making two arrests at the scene
Two people were arrested in a car which was believed to have been stolen in Northern Ireland.
Gardaí from Buncrana Roads Policing Unit spotted the vehicle at the Manorcunningham Roundabout on Sunday, August 23.
Believing that the vehicle had been stolen, they signalled for it to stop. The vehicle was then driven “in a dangerous manner and at speed” towards Bridgend. A stinger device was deployed and the vehicle was brought to a halt.
The driver fled the scene, but Gardaí located two passengers during a search of the area. The two passengers were detained and investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing to motorists with a dash-cam who travelled between Letterkenny and Bridgend via the N13 between 10:15pm and 10:45pm to make footage available.
If anybody can assist with relevant information, they are asked to contact Buncrana Gardaí on 074-9320540 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
