An Garda Siochána in Donegal has warned motorists to drive with caution and offered some advice due to flooding in the county.
There is a yellow weather warning in the county today, Sunday, which runs until midnight, which stated: "With high river levels and saturated soils, river and surface water flooding are likely, particularly in the west."
"Many roads are flooded at present due to the persistent rainfall," Donegal gardaí posted. "Pictured is the slip road to the side of the Clanree Hotel in Letterkenny. Please avoid this route this evening and any other routes that are prone to flooding, especially as it starts to get dark.

"Please turn back if possible if the road ahead appears to be badly flooded. If the road ahead is only partially flooded, then pass through, keeping to the part of the road that is visible, one car at a time. When you exit the water, drive slowly, tapping your brakes a number of times, as this will help to dry them out. Please do take extra care when travelling and be alert."
