Met Éireann has issued a status yellow warning for snow and ice for Donegal.

The warning, issued on Friday morning, is for wintry showers with some snow accumulations and will be in place from 8pm on Friday until 11am on Saturday.

The forecaster says the weather could bring hazardous travel conditions and poor visibility.

Friday's forecast is for cold and bright conditions with sunny spells and scattered showers, some of sleet or possibly snow.
