Dr Jilan Abdalmajid, a mother of three, came to Ireland seven years ago

A meeting featuring the Palestinian Ambassador to Ireland, which was due to take place in west Donegal this week has been cancelled.

Dr Jilan Abdalmajid was to meet with The Cathaoirleach of the Municipal District of Glenties, John Sheamais Ò Fearraigh on Friday, October 25, in the Dungloe Public Services Centre.

Dr Abdalmajid, a mother of three, came to Ireland seven years ago as deputy to the former Ambassador. She presented her credentials as Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Ireland to President Higgins in January 2020.

“It is with deep regret that the Cathaoirleach of the Municipal District of Glenties wishes to inform you that due to a family emergency, the Palestinian Ambassador, Dr. Jilan Abdalmajid, has had to cancel,” Glentries MD said. “Apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
