A new podcast has launched to celebrate the incredible relationship between Arranmore and Beaver Island, Michigan - two islands bound by generations of shared history, culture, and kinship.

Titled The Tides That Tie – Exploring Two Islands, One Soul, the show is hosted by Kevin Green, whose family has roots in Arranmore, and Ron Gregg, who shares a passion for preserving island heritage. The podcast is produced as part of the Beaver Island Irish Heritage Group, and it brings together voices from both islands through interviews, stories, and music.

The show builds on a proud tradition: Arranmore and Beaver Island are officially twinned, with memorials on both islands honouring their close transatlantic connection. Now, this podcast brings that story to life in a new way.

"Our two islands have shared so much - from hardship to celebration,” Kevin said. “This podcast is a tribute to that journey, and a way to carry it forward.”

Episodes will explore migration, economic shifts, cultural traditions, tourism, music, and more, told by the people who lived it.
The Tides That Tie is available now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and all major streaming platforms. If you have a story to share or want to get involved, reach out to Kevin or Ron, or email tidesthattie@biihg.com
