Sarah Gallager in her Boutique, Sarah Lorraine in Bunbeg
A chic and classy fashion collection will be showcased during an exclusive Autumn-Winter fashion show in Donegal next month and it’s going to be decadently different!
Not only will the guests be able to feast their eyes on the stunning tweeds, cashmeres and knits presented by up-and-coming designer, Sarah Lorraine, they will enjoy a relaxing dinner while the models walk through the tables, something that is hugely popular at Parisian fashion shows.
Sarah Gallagher, the talented designer behind the ‘Sarah Lorraine’ label, says she is thrilled at the response she is receiving to this unique event
“I am so excited about this event," she said. "It will be special and unique, just like the fabulous tweeds and woollens we have in this county. I consider myself blessed to be able to live and work in Donegal, as its dramatic and ever-changing landscape provides me with endless inspiration.
"There has been a fabulous reaction to the fact that I reopened my great-grandmother’s shop here in Bunbeg, and I will be paying tribute to her at the fashion show. We will be having some special guests, and the craic will be as wonderful as the fashion!
"It is a different type of fashion show and will be a real event where guests can really relax and enjoy beautiful food and fashion. I have seen this style done so often at fashion shows in Paris, and they are so relaxing and people have a wonderful night out. We will have some special guests on the night, and I am so happy to be able to support the Irish Lifeboat Association as they do incredible work”.
Sarah, who is renowned for her utilitarian designs which are cosy and sustainable, using the best of natural fabrics like wool, cashmere and tweeds, says she is proud to be able to design from her home county, crediting it with having the best of fabrics.

She added: "We truly have it all in Donegal. Wool is one of the best fabrics to design with;I use 100% Merino Wool, it is natural and breathable and so warm and cosy, perfect for Winter walks on our stunning beaches.
“My ‘Made In Donegal’ collection is my bespoke range and I really feel it is more than clothing, it is a story. Using authentic Donegal tweed from local weavers, our team of dressmakers craft each garment here in Donegal, keeping tradition alive through modern design. It represents our passion, creating true ‘Made in Donegal’ garments that celebrate heritage, craftsmanship and timeless elegance. I am so excited about showcasing my designs to the people of Donegal”
The event takes place on Saturday, November 8, at Danny Minnie’s elegant Country House, Annagry, at 7pm. Special guests and some proceeds going to the Irish Lifeboat Association, a cause Sarah is passionate about, given Donegal’s long and proud fishing tradition. Tickets, which include a three-course dinner, are €50 and available from 089-4644106.
