Letterkenny Pipe Band will perform in Spain and at home for St Patrick's weekend
The Letterkenny Pipe Band is preparing for a busy and exciting St Patrick’s weekend.
Their group of almost 50 people - including band members, families and supporters - travel to Cabo Roig, near Alicante, to take part in the town’s St Patrick’s Day Parade on March 15.
The Costa Blanca celebration has become a major event in the Irish overseas calendar, attracting large crowds each year, and the Letterkenny musicians are looking forward to bringing the unmistakable sound of pipes and drums to an international audience.

The trip is another proud opportunity to promote Letterkenny on a global stage and to showcase the town’s strong musical and community spirit. The band continues to build its international reputation.
Last St Patrick’s Day, members travelled to New York City, where they took part in the world-famous celebrations, flying the flag for Letterkenny and Donegal in one of the largest St Patrick’s Day events anywhere in the world.
That experience marked a significant milestone for the group and strengthened its ambition to represent Letterkenny far beyond local borders. Despite the overseas engagement this year, the band’s commitment to its hometown remains unwavering.
Following their performance in Cabo Roig on March 15, members will return quickly to ensure they are back in Letterkenny in time to participate in the town’s own St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17 - a highlight of the local calendar.
The travelling party reflects the strong community behind the band, with families and supporters joining members for the trip,
underlining the close-knit spirit that has helped sustain the organisation over the years.
As St Patrick’s Day approaches, the Letterkenny Pipe Band once again demonstrates that while its roots are firmly planted in Donegal, its reach continues to grow internationally - proudly promoting Letterkenny at home and abroad.
