St  Eunan’s cathedral to host concert celebrating  Italian Renaissance composer 

The Conwal Singers  

To mark the 500th anniversary of the birth of  Italian composer of late Renaissance music Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, a Solemn Mass (Ordinary Form) will be celebrated in Latin at St Eunan’s Cathedral in Letterkenny.

The event on Thursday, March 19 at 7pm will featur  The Conwal Singers, conducted by Karen Patton,  singing Palestrina’s Missa Aeterna Christi Munera - the setting of the prayers and texts of the Mass, as Palestrina composed them over 500 years ago.
