Donegal and Declan Bonner got off to the perfect start in the Dr. McKenna Cup with a comprehensive victory over Queen's
Donegal had one player making his debut, Nathan Mullins (son of former Dublin All-Ireland winner Brian Mullins, while a minute's silence was observed before the start for the late Jack Hannigan.
Mullins grabbed a goal on his debut, with Michael Langan the star of the show with an impressive 1-6. Donegal went on to beat Monaghan 4-17 to 0-19 on Shaun Patton’s debut and despite a 1-13 to 1-10 defeat to Fermanagh, made the semi-finals where they defeated Armagh 0-20 to 1-10 and would win the competition thanks to a 1-16 to 1-12 win over Tyrone in Armagh.
