With Declan Bonner having stepped aside in the last week as manager of the Donegal senior footballers a number of names have been mentioned thus far in regards the possibility of taking the role

Who are the pretenders for the throne of Donegal senior manager?

Jim McGuinness
The intentions of McGuiness are uncertain, although having relocated to the county, his name will always generate interest.
McGuinness took Donegal’s U-21 side to the 2010 Ulster title and All-Ireland final, before winning three Ulsters and the 2012 All-Ireland SFC in a four-year senior term that ended in 2014.
Has worked at Celtic as a performance consultant and youth coach, China’s Beijing Sinobo Guoan as assistant to Roger Schmidt, head coach at Charlotte Independence and coached Derry City Under-19s last season. Believed to be involved with Illistrin FC and St Michael's.
