Introducing the Donegal Sports Star Awards 1980 winners 40 years on one-by-one

The Donegal Sports Star Committee caught up on the 40-year anniversary presentations on Monday night in Letterkenny, having sat out two years during the pandemic, and re-introduced the 1980 and 1981 winners - these are the stories of the 1980 winners

Ronnie Catterson (Moto-Cross)
Moto-Cross is a form of off-road motorcycle racing held on enclosed off-road circuits and Ronnie Catterson was one of three nominees for the Award that year along with Sean Shiels, Letterkenny and Eamon O’Donnell from Manorcunningham.
Ronnie was also heavily involved in the administration of the sport along with the late Clement Harvey. He was the winner of the Donegal Championship in 1980. He also took the Workers Championship title and in total had 30 victories that year. Sadly passed away in April 2011.
