Gallery: 300 take part in Finn Harps Schools Donegal Road Safety Autumn Cup

In all, 24 teams participated, 12 boys and 12 girls’ teams, with almost 300 pupils representing their schools. Some 60 games were played on the day, culminating in Killymard winning the boys tournament and Lurgybrack winning the girls

The Finn Harps Schools Donegal Road Safety Autumn Cup was the most successful event ever held by Finn Harps Schools according to John Campbell, coordinator of the event. 

 "In the 16 years I have been involved in the Schools Programme this is without doubt the most successful event we have ever held,” said Campbell.

“We discussed this Cup with the Donegal Road Safety working group through Brian O'Donnell the objective was to deliver road safety messages as we came into Autumn through our Schools Programme.

Teams from Schools in Milford, Ramelton, Letterkenny, Lifford, Raphoe, Stranorlar, Ballybofey, Coimin and Donegal Town.
A feature of this event was that the PLC Courses in St Eunan’s in Letterkenny and Finn Valley College in Stranorlar provided the Referees on the day along with Finn Harps U-17 players. 

“We would like to thank all the Schools, teachers and pupils for making this such a success,” Campbell added. “We also wish to thank Brian O'Donnell, Donegal Road Safety Officer. A special word of thanks to Aisling Dignam and  Elaine Mc Meniman for all their work. It has been a pleasure working with the above on this project.”
