Representatives from the Embassies of Ukraine, Poland, and Colombia released doves to celebrate International Cultural Day at the Mary From Dungloe.
Mr Michał Wybiral, Consul of Poland to Ireland, Consul and Deputy Head of Mission of Colombia Mr Carlos Padrón, and Ukrainian Second Secretary on Consular Issues Mr Yaroslav Ruban, released the white doves as a sign of peace in the world.
The consulates were welcomed with bread and salt. They gave speeches on the festival platform, thanking the festival organisers for the warm welcome and getting the opportunity to see Donegal. The Ambassador of Brazil, H.E. Mr Flávio Helmold Macieira, is also due to arrive at the event.
There are 21 countries represented at the International Cultural Day, with various stalls offering traditional cuisine, craft fairs and regional outfits from around the globe. The countries represented are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, China/Hong Kong, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, India, Ireland, Nepal, Nigeria, Palestine, Philippines, Poland, Scotland, Somalia, Spain, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe.
