A YouTube video that featured Farren’s Bar in Malin was viewed over 12,000 times in 24 hours.
Daragh Curran, The Guinness Guru, made the trip to Ireland’s most northerly pub, where he met with Hugh Farren, below, from Farren's Bar. They discussed the area and, among other things, the recording of Star Wars in the area in May 2016. The Star Wars cast and crew filmed at Hell's Hole.
Then, of course, came the test of Farren’s pint of Guinness, which Hugh said had been a bit of a concern. Thankfully, it was poured to near perfection.
“I don’t have a problem with the talking,” Hugh said before pulling the pint, with the local price €4.60.
“Hugh was a little bit nervous,” Curran said. “Not about the talking but about the pint. It looks good to me. She’s fat and creamy. There was love and care and compassion put into this. Hugh takes good pride in the Guinness. It’s good.”
The video was uploaded on Bank Holiday Monday, with the channel having 56,000 subscribers.
