Lots still in-store across Donegal during final week of Earagail Arts Festival

It’s the final week of Donegal’s premier summer event, Earagail Arts Festival (July 12 - 26), and there is still lots in store across the county.

Come and enjoy some of the most extraordinary death-defying aerialists, hilarious comedians, and mind-boggling magicians Ireland has to offer at Ionad Cois Locha, Dunlewey, from Thursday, July 24 – Saturday, July 26, at 3:30pm daily, with Tumble Circus’ new show Talamh and Stephen McGinley’s Mo Cheol an Sorcas (as Gaeilge).

Talamh is the brand-new show from Belfast’s Tumble Circus. For over 30 years, they’ve been reinventing Irish circus. When you step into their big top, you're entering a world of hope, imagination, and circus revolution. Tumble Circus: the Irish Cirque du Soleil—if Cirque du Soleil was hit by a bus.

The ever popular Tumble Circus bring their high-flying show to Ionad Cois Locha in Dunlewey

Juggling and music come together in a family-friendly new circus show by Stephen McGinley, who—alongside the audience—will create music with unique instruments while revealing never-before-seen juggling patterns.

Artist, animator, and educator John D Ruddy has once again helped a group of young people from ethnic minority backgrounds (aged 12–18) explore and connect with stories from their own cultures.

Each young person, supported by their community, created an animated short film, using their own voices to tell their stories.

These shorts will premiere in a free screening at the Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny on Thursday, July 24 at 3pm.

That evening in Buncrana, Inishowen Traditional Music Project presents a celebration of the life and music of Honoria Galwey. This special event at Buncrana Cinema blends film and live performance to illuminate her rich legacy.

Festival partners are also hosting outstanding events across Donegal. Irish Aerial Dance Fest will showcase performances at An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny, while the Balor Arts Centre, Ballybofey, hosts Frankie McCafferty’s new play Lisdoon Nirvana on Friday, July 25, and Lisa Lambe & Steve Cooney on Saturday, July 26.

On Saturday, July 26, the final day of the festival, a range of diverse events are on offer. Kick off your day at the BRRR Record and Tapes Fair in Blakes (Main Street, Letterkenny), with delicious food served by Rosie’s Coffee & Food.
Enjoy a curated arts trail on the stunning island of Inis Bo Finne (just pay for the ferry), a free Oíche Airneáil of song and spoken word at the Glenveagh Inn, Termon, or join us at the festival closing party with DJ Big Cheeks in Blakes.

Meanwhile, in Ramelton that night, look forward to a truly unique collaboration as Edinburgh DJ and producer Lord Of The Isles teams up with fellow Edinburgh native, poet and performer Ellen Renton, blending evocative spoken word with introspective ambient synthscapes—sure to be a festival highlight.
