Mark English has been listed among the standout names in Ireland’s 27-strong squad for next month’s World Championships in Japan.

The Finn Valley runner has enjoyed an outstanding season, making history in June when he became the first Irishman to dip under 1:44 for the 800m.

Also included in the travelling panel is Conor Kelly, another Finn Valley athlete, while Letterkenny’s Erin Friel has been selected as a reserve.
