Heartbroken Donegal Mum says ‘I will carry you in my heart for the rest of my days’

There is huge sadness following the death of Donegal teenager Kaitlyn Glackin

The devastated mother of teenager Kaitlyn Glackin who passed away after a long illness has appealed to people for prayers.

Kaitlyn’s Mum Sarah Louise said: “It is with the heaviest and most broken heart that I share the passing of my beautiful daughter Kaitlyn who left this world on March 4, 2026. 

“She was just 15 years of age.

“Kaitlyn is predeceased by her beloved grandmother Bredge and her uncle Michael, Mountcharles. She will always be remembered with love by her auntie Roseanne and her cousins Ciaran, Oisin, and Daniel Ellison, her uncle Peter, and grandfather Tom Kennedy along with all her extended family.

“My sweet Kaitlyn I will carry you in my heart for the rest of my days.

“Please keep Kaitlyn in your thoughts and prayers.”

Funeral Arrangements

A death notice posted on a number of platforms reads: “The death has occurred of Kaitlyn Louise Glackin, Aughlim, Donegal Town, F94 XO74, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, following a long illness, bravely fought.

“She will be forever loved and deeply missed by her devoted father Aidan; her sisters Clodagh and Niamh; her brother Tiernan; her cherished grandparents Gerard and Evelyn; her aunt Colette and partner Terence; her extended family, neighbours and friends.

“May she rest in peace.”

The house is strictly private. 

Funeral Mass will take place in St Agatha’s Church, Clar, on Friday, March 6 at 2pm followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard. Mass can be viewed on the parish webcam.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if so desired to Barretstown Children’s Charity care of George Irwin Funeral Directors or any family member.
