A car was seized by Gardai in Donegal was out of tax, insurance and NCT for over five YEARS.
The car was impounded and the driver will now face court proceedings.
Gardai conducted a road safety ‘day of action’ across the Donegal Garda Division.
Officers from the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit stopped a car, which was out of tax, insurance and NCT.
The car’s tax expired in February 2018, some 1,981 days previously.
The insurance on the vehicle was out since May 2018 with the NCT having expired in June 2018.
Gardai stopped the car at a checkpoint as part of the ‘day of action’ which was focussed on driving under the influence, speed, non-wearing of seat belts and holding a mobile phone.
A spokesperson said: “The overall objective is to reduce the number of fatal and serious injury collisions and to keep people safe as they take to the roads this weekend.”
